Just been browsing tinternet and i only just discovered that the japanese swg servers were shutdown ages ago. By the looks of it they were shutdown due to low population.. the shutdown date was shortly after the NGE hit though. Im guessing the server populations were fine pre-NGE? :P
Anyone know much about this?
If im correct then why didnt they do this to our servers when the populations plummeted? Shutdown or reroll was the way to go imo. Bad idea to carry on going till you drop :P

Ioiny just made a very interesting post regarding server populations about 10 minutes ago or something, worth looking up :)


There was also a fine video charting the rise and fall of the SWG JP servers, I'll track it down and bung it in the videos and pics section of the forum shortly.

I find it ironic none of the american servers broke 800 population at prime time.

clicky (http://www.mmogchart.com/) <- this is one of the only sites ive seen that tracks subscriptions to mmos. its not 100% accurate but gives an idea of where they are at. sadly it hasn't been updated since june 06 :(
