View Full Version : Remove Anti-Decay Kits From SWG

Anti-Decay Kits, or ADKs for short, should NOT be allowed into the game.

The decision by SOE/The powers that be to implement these items into the game was a very bad one indeed.

ADKs were gamebreaking. There is no doubt about it.

ADKs stopped the cycle of high powered weapons from slowly drifting in and out of the game and increased any issues of unbalance there already was. A 1000-3000dmg weapon that never goes out of the game does NOT sound like fun.

Crafters were no longer needed by those once they had a weapon that had an ADK on it and so this did not aid economy either.

Jedi could put perfect flawless pearls into a lightsaber and ADK the whole lot and never have to change the pearls. Hardly fair, don't you think?

For many people this may decide whether someone plays on a server or not so i think this should be resolved NOW. Back in the time where SWGEmu was the only emulator about and halfway credible, i was going to play on spraticnet before i found you guys. Do you know why i went looking for another server? (not just because they went uncredible) they were keeping ADK's and you could get one for about £10 in money. Already decided no ADK's

The only way they would make their way back in is if by the off-chance we feel it is an incredibly special reward and it only reduces decay, not completely negates it.

indeed reduce decay kit would be a better idea than an anti-decay kit, and make them non tradeable

Wow. Never thought people would be behind the keeping in of ADK's as they were in that poll you linked Krydel.

Definitely a no on this server if previous discussions are anything to go by. Lets hope that by having no ADK's we manage to disuade a number of immature game-breaking perma-twats from playing on Chimaera. :)

I tottaly agree, they shouldn't be fully removed, but a decay kit reducing loss of condition would be nice, they should also not be a reward/starting item, but more of a high-resource eating item only craftable by a master crafter. Also, imo they should be 1 use only, and cost atleast 150K-200K, it would reduce condition loss for 10%-40%. Just an idea.
Perhaps to make it even less popular, when the RDK is equipped on a weapon, it should not be able to repair it and/or put pup's on it.
I would like it this way.

Because alot of people even think reduced decay kits are a bad idea as a reward, now crafting an endless amount of reduced decay kits no matter what cost is worse than having a one off reduced decay kit that can't be traded and you'd only use it on an exceptional weapon that is forced to bind to you (which wouldn't dent the amount of resources you have when you get good BRM's)

Probably a better solution might be a 100% chance to repair kit that can't 1/1 something and it costs loads of resources and won't be financially viable on anything other than absolutely amazing weapons, reducing decay is just plain poo

but tbh, any decay reduction and repair kits are bad that are certain ;)

100-200k for a kit?

On my server they went for 10mil minimum. I only ever had 2.

Sorry for the crop of thread necros - I have a server suggestion to make so thought I'd better browse all the previous suggestions first to make sure I'm not repeating it.

Anyway, ADK - ironically, I've never heard of these, but the entire concept of decaying armour is one of the reasons why the economy in SWG was good. It gave crafters a very real job, just like ship builders in EVE will never be out of work.
