Might as well have it out in the open.
What do you do for a living (in real life). I realize some of you are students, but even so... part timers, summer jobs (if and when required) etc.. perhaps what you WILL be doing in the future, if all things go according to plan.
I, myself, am a 3D graphics artist thingy.. whatever you want to call it. I work at a small company (about 8 employees), where I mainly build architects' 2D drawings of buildings, into a fully rendered 3D environment, with lighting, materials and all the nescessary crap to make the laymen go ":O" and then ":D" with eye candy delight.
I'm by no means 1337, but it's enjoyable overall, and I hope to make my way into game and movie stuff eventually. The company I work in is owned and run by an old friend. We're all gamers, but lately, I've found me boss to be a bit of a tard. I've known for some time he was a bit annoying, but since times are slow rigth now, he's just going apeshit. So I'm looking for a new place.

Full-time student on a 3 year undergraduate BA degree. I'm studying Philosophy and Social Policy in London. I plan to major in Philosophy (forming 75% of my degree instead of 50%) and focus mainly on Ethics (the SP element provides me with a sociological background).
In terms of money I live of the wealth I've collected over the years but having realised that I can't keep it up I've got a job at a company that provides staff for events and shows. My duties will include things like selling show-guides, ticket selling or kiosk work. My first show will probably be the Ideal Home Show in Earl's Court. It's not a career but it's a student job that's flexible around my lectures and seminars so I'm happy.
I used to work in a computer repair shop for 8 months during my gap year which was great for the first few months but I grew to dislike my boss and I started to feel that I was the one doing the main bulk of the work that actually wasn't specified in my agreement. Nonetheless that was educational and paid a decent wage.

I'm still in school, I play poker occasionally which gives me some money to play around with.
After school I will probably try more serioulsy with poker for a year or so.
Then it's time for some studying to do, not sure where yet but US, France and England are in my mind. (Economics study...)

Doing my A-Levels at at a sixth-form near Reading, in the UK, studying Business Studies (boring and easy as fuck) Economics (strangly interesting and cunting hard, hate Micro <!-- s:evil: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_evil.gif" alt="Evil or Very Mad" title="Evil or Very Mad" /><!-- s:evil: -->) and Computing (which i fucking love beyond belief (yea i'm a nerd...so are all of us really)even though it can be really hard)
Work a bit at the school doing the odd bit of IT support, get paid fuck all...but i do fuck all hours...the hourly wage is pretty decent though, so it adds up...slowly...
And currently in the process of trying to set up my ebay empire of selling custom PC's...as is made obvious in another thread...in the Nerdhouse.
Wanna go to Uni and do Games Development, focusing on the coding rather than the graphic side of things..partical generators and the like. Which i hope to be doing at Tees/Tyneside if i get the grades in the summer.
thats about it tbh >_>
Im currently doing my A-Levels Studying Music Tech, Philosophy and Politics. Wana go onto Uni to Study Music Tech some where or go and Do Philosophy at Oxford ( yes im aiming high).
Dont have a part time job, though Im might apply for a M&S thats opening around the corner from me.

need your car fixed or a house put up, then give us a call
on the side, i do alot of autocad work for a small 10 man company near home, out of term. doing the same shizzle as dalif i guess, just on a more non-eyecandy level
(i produce prints which would be eligable for any person who wanted to build the given item, enough detail to create it - including materials/dimensions/scales)
it goes well with my engineering degree...
on graduating, i hope to go into some form of accident investigation, looking at how failures (inc. human error) could have happened/been prevented.
enough of my life..

I'm an "Executive officer of the Department for Work & Pensions", I work for Jobcentreplus as a Decison Maker.
In a nutshell if someone is absolutley skint they can apply for various grants & loans. I'm the person who interviews them & decides if they can have any money & if so how much they get. I get to speak to lots of ex-prisoners, homeless people & single mums who "accidently left my farkin' purse on the bus, innit".
I only started doing this job at the beginning of January, before that I worked for the Child Support Agency as an adviser/consolidator/line-manager/jack of all trades.

Amusing how sometimes people do what you least expect them to do.
The new job must be pretty interesting at times. But I've worked with things similiar to that, where you talk to people who are skint a lot, and sometimes it can drag you down. Misery misery misery... gets heavy after a bit imo.

Atm I'm Learning C# and Java by myself, I'd also like to call myself a Webdesigner. I know alot about computers which I've learned through screwing and picking inside of them, When I quit school I'm hoping for a nice IT job like Support, Webdesign,Sell computer parts or develop Software.

My job title is 'Customer Services Email Advisor' for a UK mobile phone company.
This basically means I spend all day answering emails. A large number of which are complaints. From people with exceptionally bad spelling and grasp of the english language.
Generally ' can't believe you cut me off you bunch of twats without warning blah blah blah' when people haven't paid a bill in 5 months <!-- s8O --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_eek.gif" alt="Shocked" title="Shocked" /><!-- s8O -->
Being a time served online gamer, there's been more than one occasion that a colleague has received a mail written in a combination of txt spk and pure hardcore l33t and needed a translator. I'm known on the department as 'the guy that somehow can read and understand that shit!!!'
A bit like the wizened old white woman from Airplane who steps forward and says 'excuse me miss, allow me, I can speak Jive'.
This can in turn be both a hilarious and suicidal endeavour. But it keeps me in Red Bull, the missus in Blossom Hill, and my little 10 month old girl in nappies and smiling- so it's fit for purpose until I retire or get famous.
Oh, I'm also a part time rap artist and full time sarcastic/random twat. Just thought I'd throw that one in as a curve ball for you.
/exit stage right, pursued by Ricardo Montalban.

i have the delightful role of senior banking advisor...
basically, means instead of handling the routine, transfer funds from account A to funds-lacking account B, I get lumbered with specific shit at short notice and loads of grief... businesses, students (all of you die of aids now, especially if you cunts have to get your fucking mother to stand by you on the phone reading your account number to you from a bank statement), mortgages, blah blah blah.
i don't really give a monkey's left nut for it, but it pays the bills, at least until I can find an agent/publisher who wants to sign up my manuscript and the other 5 in progress.
then i can give up working properly and be a full-time dad (gaming time allowed, they will be encouraged to partake) and make sure the kid(s) don't become chavs and require shooting.
(and Ricardo Montalban is pure ownage [img:667ea]http://www.poster.net/montalban-ricardo/montalban-ricardo-photo-ricardo-montalban-6205391.jpg[/img:667ea] )
