gerrard almost always performs better than lampoon when they're in the same team because he has more gusto to do stuff. lamps is either thinking too much about wtf he's doing to actually just get on and do what he's normally good at for chelsea, or he just lets gerrard do all the work. given he's pretty much useless in a holding role anyway since he can't tackle for fuck, and ends up running forward anyway then why bother with him? play a second out and out striker with gerrard floating around behind them... don't have lampard doing it (badly) and then waste gerrard shoving him out on a wing
