It's weird...as its Bioware you sort of except something different and good, but I can't help but worry that all MMO's for a long time to come are just going to be either WoW rips, or Korean Grind MMO's with a WoW Skin.

All we can assume is that it will have a real good story.

Everything else would be a guess. I doubt it's gonna be targetting pvpers to much, a very mainstream company isn't really gonna focus on such a niche market.

SWG wouldn't be SWG is if it was just a rehash...hell the emu will probably only have 60-70% of the atmosphere for actual Pre-CU.

Star Wars MMO, set in KOTOR, made by Bioware...has all the trappings to be an amazing game...just as long as it take more than the first 10 hours of the game to become a knight....

Considering WoW is an EQ clone, it makes no difference. :)

There was alot of talk that when they first announced they were working on an mmo that it was most likely gonna be based in the Jade Empire world.

I'll still hope it's based on Kotor, but regardless, unless it's focused on pvp i'll probably rubber it, had my fill of pve centric mmo's to last a lifetime.

Yeah its true that at first the emu wont have the full original atmosphere, but once its realeased its pretty much up to us to make sure it gets the players and attention that it needs to bring it back to the way we all want it :)

First off i would love a mmo in the kotor universe. Also Bioware is one of the best rpg-making company's out there, probably the best. But let's look at the facts.

First off, bioware announced making a mmo way before the bioware/lucasarts contract. Also rumor's of a kotor mmo have been going around the e-web since they announced the unnamed mmo. And Bioware could be making more profit if they created a mmo of there own, they could focus it around one of there own games (mass effect mmo rumors going around aswell) or make a complete new universe/lore. They wouldn't have the copyright stress, less deadline stress, they could fully make it to there own wishes, etc.

Even tough what i just said could still mean the kotor mmo is in the making (i'd love it) there would be the jedi problem, you see in the kotor universe, jedi's/sith where everywhere, so if they where making a kotor mmo it would be a great exuse to put jedi's everywhere.

Imo the chance that there making a kotor mmo is small, even tough i'm sure they see the big potencial. Also Bioware is known for keeping there unnamed projects very sealed until they announce it. I could (and hopefully am) be very wrong, but i don't think it's gonna happen.

the only solution to jedi overall is they aren't allowed, or the penalties for having one are heavy (to the point of 'death' resulting in the toon rendered unusable for several days while they 'force heal' themselves)
